In-Person Tuition: The tuition for each class is $20.00. Tuition is due at time of registration via check, money order or credit card. Companies with an active line of credit may submit a purchase order.
Class Locations: Held at USACD branch locations.
RSVP’s and Cancellations: Please pre-register for seminars. RSVP’s can be done by completing a registration form and submitting by email. RSVP’s and cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance. Student substitutions are always welcome if the registrant is unable to attend. Late cancellations and no shows will be billed for the class.
Class is limited to 25 people. Class minimum is 10 and will be cancelled if there is not enough interest.
Miscellaneous: A light meal is included prior to start of class. Most classes qualify for 3 hours of NATE continuing education credit. Classes are subject to a minimum enrollment and to change without notice. Instructor is an US Air Conditioning Distributor employee in the Customer Assurance Department.

The class will cover the functions of a split air conditioning system with a gas furnace and an air handler. Discussion will be on what are the tools needed, proper way to use a multimeter, understanding how multimeter functions, how to measure pulse width modulation and ECM motor readings, how to use a manometer to take and adjust gas pressure reading, static pressure readings and what the readings mean in servicing a HVAC system. This class is for service technicians, installers wanting to move into service, service managers, and owners. Instructor is Matthew Getz and class hours are 5:30-9:00 pm. This class will cover the proper way to size a residential system whether you are using a split gas electric, heat pump system or package unit. We will go into whether you should replace the ducting with new or leave the existing ductwork, use zoning, what to look for when retrofitting an old furnace only or split system. We will cover the most common mistakes that need to be avoided and how to meet the energy codes. This class is good for owners, sales personnel, installers, service managers and technicians. This class discussion will be on how to repair aluminum coils covering the basics of welding and discussing the different types of aluminum solder rods and flux. It is a hands-on class and you will need to bring your own PPE for welding, gloves and safety glasses. Each person will have an opportunity to practice welding techniques. The class will be held on Saturday from 8 am to 12 noon and is for all technicians and installers.
This class will be limited to 10 persons per class to allow everyone a chance to practice.
