EPA Testing available for San Diego and El Cajon branches will test for San Diego, Escondido, Chula Vista, and East County
El Centro only by appointment with a minimum of 10 techs.
In-Person Tuition: The tuition for each class is $20.00. Tuition is due at time of registration via check, money order or credit card. Companies with an active line of credit may submit a purchase order.
Class Locations: Held at USACD branch locations.
RSVP’s and Cancellations: Please pre-register for seminars. RSVP’s can be done by completing a registration form and submitting by email. RSVP’s and cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance. Student substitutions are always welcome if the registrant is unable to attend. Late cancellations and no shows will be billed for the class.
Class is limited to 25 people. Class minimum is 10 and will be cancelled if there is not enough interest.
Miscellaneous: A light meal is included prior to start of class. Most classes qualify for 3 hours of NATE continuing education credit. Classes are subject to a minimum enrollment and to change without notice. Instructor is an US Air Conditioning Distributor employee in the Customer Assurance Department.

The class will cover the functions of a heat pump split system and package unit, how to service and install them. Also covering the tools needed, the proper way to use a multimeter and understand how it functions, how to measure pulse width modulation and ECM motor readings, how to use a manometer to take and adjust gas pressure reading, static pressure readings and what they mean in servicing an HVAC system. This class is for all service technicians and installers wanting to move into service. class hours are 5:30-9:00 pm. NATE approved 3 CEH’s, course #8555-0011. This class will center around the issues of retrofitting an existing system; what to look for in checking the ducting, electrical, line sets, and existing conditions as well as what you will need to update to an A2L system with the tips and tricks that might help. This class is for salespeople, service technicians, installers, service managers, and owners. Instructor is Matthew Getz and class hours are 5:30-9:00 pm. NATE approved 3 CEH’s, course #8555-0016. This class discussion will be on how to repair aluminum coils covering the basics of welding and discussing the different types of aluminum solder rods and flux. It is a hands-on class and you will need to bring your own PPE for welding, gloves and safety glasses. Each person will have an opportunity to practice welding techniques. The class will be held on Saturday from 8 am to 12 noon and is for all technicians and installers.
This class will be limited to 10 persons per class to allow everyone a chance to practice.
