HVAC Service Training Southern California

In-Person Tuition: The tuition for each class is $20.00. Tuition is due at time of registration via check, money order or credit card. Companies with an active line of credit may submit a purchase order.

Class Locations: Held at USACD branch locations.

RSVP’s and Cancellations: Please pre-register for seminars. RSVP’s can be done by completing a registration form and submitting by email. RSVP’s and cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance. Student substitutions are always welcome if the registrant is unable to attend. Late cancellations and no shows will be billed for the class.

Class is limited to 25 people. Class minimum is 10 and will be cancelled if there is not enough interest.

Miscellaneous: A light meal is included prior to start of class. Most classes qualify for 3 hours of NATE continuing education credit. Classes are subject to a minimum enrollment and to change without notice. Instructor is an US Air Conditioning Distributor employee in the Customer Assurance Department.

This class will cover the basic functions of a furnace, how to service them, tools needed, the proper way to use a multimeter and understand how it functions, how to measure pulse width modulation and ECM motor readings, how to use a manometer to take and adjust gas pressure, static pressure readings and what they mean in servicing a HVAC system. This class is for new and existing service technicians and installers wanting to move into service. The San Diego Class will have hands on training. Matthew Getz and class hours are 5:30-9:00 pm. This class will cover the problems associated with Ultra Low N0x furnaces, including, failures on startup, gas pressure issues, transducer failures, and other associated issues you may have encountered. This class will cover the proper way to size a residential system whether you are using a split gas electric or heat pump system or package unit. Topics covered are whether you replace the ducting with new or leave the existing ductwork, how to size line sets, what to look for when retrofitting an old furnace only or a split system, common mistakes that need to be avoided and how to meet the energy codes.
